George Keith, 4th Earl Marischal
George Keith, 4th Earl Marischal (c. 1692–1778), was a Scottish nobleman known for his role in the {Jacobite} uprisings. He was a prominent supporter of the {Jacobite cause}, which sought to restore the {Stuart} monarchy to the British throne. His loyalty to the Jacobite movement led him to fight in the {Battle of Culloden} in 1746.
After the defeat of the Jacobites, Keith fled to {France}, where he continued to support the exiled Stuart family. He was later appointed as the governor of {Dunkirk} and held various military positions. His life reflects the turbulent political landscape of 18th-century Scotland.
