George Keith, 3rd Earl Marischal (c. 1692–1778), was a Scottish nobleman known for his role in the {Jacobite} uprisings. He was a prominent supporter of the {Jacobite cause}, which sought to restore the {Stuart} monarchy to the British throne. His loyalty to the Jacobites led him to fight in the {Battle of Sheriffmuir} in 1715. After the defeat of the Jacobites, Keith went into exile in {France}. He later served in the {French army} and became a general. Despite his military career, he remained a significant figure in Scottish history, representing the interests of the {Scottish nobility} during a turbulent period.
