Gabriele D'Annunzio
Gabriele D'Annunzio (1863-1938) was an Italian poet, playwright, and nationalist known for his influential role in Italian literature and politics. He was a prominent figure in the Decadent movement and is celebrated for his rich, lyrical style. D'Annunzio's works often explored themes of beauty, love, and the human experience, making him a significant literary figure in the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
In addition to his literary contributions, D'Annunzio was also involved in politics and military actions. He is best known for leading the Fiume occupation in 1919, where he declared himself the ruler of the city. His actions and ideas influenced Italian nationalism and later inspired the Fascist movement in Italy.
