Flower Components
Flowers are made up of several key components that play important roles in reproduction. The main parts include the petals, which attract pollinators with their colors and scents, and the sepals, which protect the flower bud before it blooms. The stamens, which consist of the anther and filament, produce pollen, while the pistil contains the ovary, style, and stigma, where fertilization occurs.
Each component works together to ensure the flower can reproduce effectively. Pollinators, such as bees and butterflies, are drawn to the petals and help transfer pollen from the anthers to the stigma. This process leads to the formation of seeds within the ovary, allowing new plants to grow.
