Flag of Syria
The Flag of Syria features three horizontal stripes of red, white, and black. The red stripe at the top symbolizes the blood shed for independence, the white represents peace and the country's aspirations, and the black signifies the dark past of oppression. In the center, there are two green stars, which represent the unity of Syria and Egypt during the short-lived United Arab Republic from 1958 to 1961.
Adopted in 1980, the flag's design is based on the pan-Arab colors, which are commonly used in the flags of several Arab nations. The Syria flag is often displayed during national holidays and events, reflecting the country's identity and heritage.
