First War
The First War, also known as the First World War, took place from 1914 to 1918. It involved many countries, primarily in Europe, and was triggered by the assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand of Austria. The war saw two main alliances: the Allies, including countries like France, Britain, and Russia, and the Central Powers, led by Germany, Austria-Hungary, and Ottoman Empire.
The conflict introduced new military technologies, such as tanks and airplanes, and resulted in significant loss of life and widespread destruction. The war ended with the signing of the Treaty of Versailles in 1919, which imposed heavy reparations on Germany and redrew national boundaries, setting the stage for future geopolitical tensions.
