Fatah al-Islam
Fatah al-Islam is a militant group that emerged in the mid-2000s in Lebanon. It is known for its radical Islamist ideology and has been involved in various conflicts, particularly in the Palestinian refugee camps. The group was formed as a splinter faction from Fatah, which is a major Palestinian political party.
The group gained notoriety during the 2007 clashes with the Lebanese Army in Nahr al-Bared camp, leading to significant casualties and displacement. Over the years, Fatah al-Islam has been linked to other extremist organizations and has faced crackdowns from both Lebanese authorities and rival factions within the region.
