FAT (Obesity)
FAT, or obesity, is a medical condition characterized by an excessive accumulation of body fat. It is typically measured using the Body Mass Index (BMI), which calculates weight in relation to height. A BMI of 30 or higher is classified as obese. Obesity can lead to various health issues, including heart disease, diabetes, and certain cancers.
The causes of obesity are multifactorial, including genetic, environmental, and lifestyle factors. Poor diet, lack of physical activity, and emotional factors can contribute to weight gain. Addressing obesity often requires a combination of dietary changes, increased physical activity, and sometimes medical intervention to promote healthier weight management.
