Eyjafjallajökull
Eyjafjallajökull is a glacier-covered volcano located in southern Iceland. It stands at 1,666 meters (5,469 feet) high and is part of the larger East Volcanic Zone. The volcano is known for its significant eruptions, particularly the one in April 2010, which disrupted air travel across Europe due to ash clouds.
The name Eyjafjallajökull translates to "island mountain glacier" in Icelandic. The glacier itself covers an area of about 100 square kilometers (39 square miles) and is a popular destination for hikers and tourists. Its unique landscape features stunning waterfalls and volcanic formations.
