Eye Muscles
The human eye has six muscles, known as the extraocular muscles, that control its movement. These muscles allow the eye to move in different directions, helping us to focus on objects and track moving things. The six muscles are the superior rectus, inferior rectus, medial rectus, lateral rectus, superior oblique, and inferior oblique.
These muscles work together to ensure proper eye alignment and coordination. When we want to look at something, the brain sends signals to these muscles, causing them to contract or relax. This precise control is essential for activities like reading, driving, and sports.
