Eye Cancer
Eye cancer, also known as ocular cancer, occurs when abnormal cells grow in or around the eye. The most common type is melanoma, which typically starts in the melanocytes, the cells that produce pigment. Other types include retinoblastoma, which primarily affects children, and lymphoma, which can occur in the eye or surrounding tissues.
Symptoms of eye cancer may include vision changes, a visible growth on the eye, or unexplained eye pain. Diagnosis often involves a comprehensive eye exam and imaging tests. Treatment options vary based on the type and stage of cancer and may include surgery, radiation therapy, or chemotherapy.
