Enets
The Enets are an indigenous people of Siberia, primarily residing in the Taimyr Peninsula in northern Russia. They are part of the larger Samoyedic group and traditionally engaged in reindeer herding, fishing, and hunting. Their language, also called Enets, belongs to the Uralic language family and has two main dialects: Forest Enets and Tundra Enets.
Historically, the Enets have faced significant cultural and social changes due to Russian colonization and modernization. Today, many Enets people continue to practice their traditional lifestyles, while others have adapted to contemporary society. Efforts are being made to preserve their language and cultural heritage amidst these changes.
