Nenets
The Nenets are an indigenous people primarily residing in the Arctic region of Russia, particularly in the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug. They are known for their nomadic lifestyle, traditionally herding reindeer and relying on them for food, clothing, and transportation. The Nenets language belongs to the Uralic language family.
Culturally, the Nenets maintain a rich heritage that includes unique traditions, music, and crafts. Their traditional dwellings, called chums, are portable tents made from reindeer hides and are designed to withstand harsh Arctic conditions. The Nenets have a deep spiritual connection to nature, which is reflected in their beliefs and practices.
