Endodontic Treatment
Endodontic treatment, commonly known as a root canal, is a dental procedure aimed at treating infections or damage within the pulp of a tooth. The pulp contains nerves and blood vessels, and when it becomes infected or inflamed, it can cause severe pain and lead to tooth loss if not addressed. During the procedure, the dentist removes the infected pulp, cleans the inside of the tooth, and seals it to prevent further issues.
After the treatment, the tooth may require a crown to restore its strength and function. Endodontic treatment is often successful in saving teeth that would otherwise need to be extracted, allowing patients to maintain their natural smiles and chewing ability.
