Emperor Xuantong
Emperor Xuantong, also known as Puyi, was the last emperor of the Qing Dynasty in China. He ascended to the throne at the age of two in 1908 and ruled until the abdication in 1912, following the Xinhai Revolution. His reign marked the end of over two thousand years of imperial rule in China.
After his abdication, Puyi lived a life of exile and was later installed as a puppet emperor by the Japanese in the Manchukuo state during the 1930s. He was captured by the Soviet Union after World War II and eventually returned to China, where he lived as a common citizen until his death in 1967.
