Edward White Benson
Edward White Benson was an English bishop and author, born on July 14, 1829, in Dorset, England. He served as the Archbishop of Canterbury from 1883 until his death in 1896. Benson was known for his eloquent preaching and his efforts to promote the Anglican Church during a time of significant social change.
In addition to his ecclesiastical duties, Benson was a prolific writer, producing works that included sermons, essays, and biographies. He was also the father of the famous author A.C. Benson, who is best known for his literary contributions and as a member of the Bloomsbury Group.
