Duke Otto of Bavaria
Duke Otto of Bavaria was a member of the House of Wittelsbach, born on April 7, 1848. He served as the Duke of Bavaria from 1886 until his death in 1916. Otto was known for his mental health struggles, which led to his long-term institutionalization. Despite this, he was a significant figure in Bavarian history and culture.
Otto's reign coincided with a period of political change in Germany, including the rise of the German Empire. His brother, Ludwig III, succeeded him as the last king of Bavaria. Otto's legacy is often associated with the challenges of mental health in leadership.
