Duke Charles of Guelders
Duke Charles of Guelders, also known as Charles the Bold, was a prominent nobleman in the late 15th century. He ruled the Duchy of Guelders, located in present-day Netherlands and Germany. His reign was marked by conflicts with neighboring territories, particularly the Duchy of Burgundy and the Holy Roman Empire.
Charles was known for his ambition to expand his territory and influence. He played a significant role in the political landscape of Northern Europe during his time, often engaging in alliances and wars. His efforts ultimately led to his downfall, as he was defeated in the Battle of Tiel in 1473.
