Don Carlos of Bourbon-Two Sicilies
Don Carlos of Bourbon-Two Sicilies was a Spanish nobleman born on December 5, 1818. He was a member of the House of Bourbon, a prominent royal family in Europe. Don Carlos was known for his claim to the Spanish throne during the Carlist Wars, which were a series of civil wars in Spain over succession issues.
He was the son of Infante Francisco de Paula of Spain and Princess Luisa Carlotta of the Two Sicilies. Don Carlos's claim to the throne was based on his belief in the legitimacy of the Salic Law, which excluded women from the line of succession. He died on March 13, 1861, in France.
