Dom Miguel I
Dom Miguel I was a Portuguese king who ruled from 1828 to 1834. He was born on October 26, 1802, and was the younger brother of Queen Maria II. His reign was marked by a struggle for power between conservative and liberal factions in Portugal, leading to a civil war known as the Liberal Wars.
In 1834, after losing the civil war, Dom Miguel was forced into exile. He spent much of his later life in Europe, particularly in Italy and France. He died on November 14, 1866, in the city of Freiburg, Germany, without ever regaining the throne.
