Dashur
Dashur is an archaeological site located in Egypt, known for its ancient pyramids. It is situated about 40 kilometers south of Cairo and is part of the Memphis necropolis. The site features several pyramids, including the famous Bent Pyramid and the Red Pyramid, which are significant examples of early pyramid construction.
The Bent Pyramid, built during the reign of Pharaoh Sneferu, is unique due to its distinct shape, which changes angles partway up. The Red Pyramid, also constructed by Sneferu, is considered the first true smooth-sided pyramid. Dashur provides valuable insights into the evolution of pyramid design in ancient Egypt.
