Bent Pyramid
The Bent Pyramid is an ancient Egyptian pyramid located at Dahshur, built during the reign of Pharaoh Sneferu around 2600 BCE. It is unique due to its distinctive shape, which changes angle partway up, giving it a bent appearance. This design is thought to reflect the transition from step-sided to smooth-sided pyramids.
The pyramid originally stood at about 105 meters tall and was constructed using limestone and granite. The Bent Pyramid is significant as it represents an important step in the evolution of pyramid construction, showcasing the architectural advancements of ancient Egypt during the Old Kingdom.
