Czechoslovak Resistance
The Czechoslovak Resistance refers to the efforts of Czechoslovak citizens and military personnel to oppose Nazi occupation during World War II. After the country was invaded in 1939, many individuals formed underground groups to sabotage German operations, spread information, and support Allied forces. Notable organizations included the Czechoslovak National Council and various partisan units.
In addition to local resistance, Czechoslovak exiles in London worked with the Allies to coordinate military actions and gather support. The assassination of Reinhard Heydrich, a high-ranking Nazi official, in 1942 was one of the most significant acts of resistance, leading to severe reprisals but also highlighting the determination of the Czechoslovak people.
