Reinhard Heydrich
Reinhard Heydrich was a high-ranking official in Nazi Germany, known for his role as the chief of the Reich Security Main Office (RSHA). He was a key architect of the Holocaust and played a significant part in the implementation of the Final Solution, which aimed to exterminate the Jewish population of Europe. Heydrich was also involved in the planning of the Wannsee Conference, where the logistics of the genocide were discussed.
Born on March 7, 1904, in Halberstadt, Germany, Heydrich had a background in the German Navy before joining the Nazi Party. He was known for his ruthless efficiency and was nicknamed the "Butcher of Prague" due to his brutal governance in Czechoslovakia.
