Cymbopogon nardus (Citronella)
Cymbopogon nardus, commonly known as citronella, is a tropical grass native to Asia. It is well-known for its aromatic oil, which is extracted from its leaves and stems. This oil is widely used in perfumes, soaps, and candles, as well as in natural insect repellents due to its strong scent.
Citronella thrives in warm climates and can grow up to 1.5 meters tall. It prefers well-drained soil and full sunlight. In addition to its commercial uses, Cymbopogon nardus is also valued in traditional medicine for its potential anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial properties.
