Currituck Lighthouse
The Currituck Lighthouse is located in Corolla, North Carolina, and was completed in 1875. Standing at 162 feet tall, it is one of the tallest lighthouses in the United States. The lighthouse features a distinctive red brick exterior and a unique octagonal shape, making it a prominent landmark along the Outer Banks.
Visitors can climb the 220 steps to the top for stunning views of the surrounding area, including the Currituck Sound and the Atlantic Ocean. The lighthouse is part of the Currituck National Wildlife Refuge and is open to the public for tours during the warmer months.
