Court of Session
The Court of Session is the highest civil court in Scotland. It handles a wide range of civil cases, including disputes over contracts, property, and family law. The court is located in Edinburgh and is divided into two main divisions: the Outer House, which deals with more complex cases, and the Inner House, which hears appeals.
Judges in the Court of Session are known as Lords and Ladies, and they are appointed by the Monarch on the advice of the First Minister. The court plays a crucial role in interpreting and applying Scottish law, ensuring justice is served in civil matters.
