First Minister
The term "First Minister" refers to the head of government in certain countries or regions, particularly in parliamentary systems. This position is often responsible for leading the executive branch, making policy decisions, and representing the government in legislative matters. The First Minister is typically elected by the members of the parliament or assembly and is accountable to them.
In the United Kingdom, for example, each of the devolved administrations—such as Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland—has its own First Minister. These leaders manage local affairs and implement policies specific to their regions while working within the framework of the broader UK government.
