Constantinos Doxiadis
Constantinos Doxiadis was a Greek architect and urban planner, born on April 14, 1913, in the city of Bucharest. He is best known for his work in the field of urban design and for developing the concept of Ekistics, which studies human settlements and their environments. Doxiadis emphasized the importance of planning cities to accommodate the needs of their inhabitants.
Throughout his career, Doxiadis worked on various projects worldwide, including the master plan for the city of Islamabad in Pakistan. He founded the Doxiadis Associates firm and contributed to numerous international conferences on urban planning. His ideas continue to influence modern urban development practices.
