Circassians
The Circassians are an ethnic group native to the North Caucasus region of Russia. They have a rich cultural heritage, characterized by unique traditions, music, and dance. Historically, they were known for their warrior skills and played a significant role in the region's history, particularly during conflicts with the Ottoman Empire and Russia.
After the Caucasian War in the 19th century, many Circassians were displaced, leading to a large diaspora. Today, they can be found in various countries, including Turkey, Jordan, and Syria, where they continue to preserve their language and customs while adapting to new environments.
