Chetniks
The Chetniks were a Serbian nationalist and royalist paramilitary group that emerged during World War II. They were initially formed to resist the Axis powers, particularly the Nazis and Fascists, and aimed to restore the Kingdom of Yugoslavia. Led by Draža Mihailović, the Chetniks operated mainly in occupied Serbia and other parts of Yugoslavia.
Over time, the Chetniks became involved in complex political dynamics, including conflicts with other resistance groups like the Partisans, led by Josip Broz Tito. Their actions during the war have been controversial, as they were accused of collaborating with the Axis forces and committing atrocities against non-Serb populations.
