Catherine of Valois
Catherine of Valois (1401-1437) was a French princess and the daughter of King Charles VI of France. She became Queen of England by marrying Henry V in 1420. Their union was part of the political efforts to secure peace between England and France during the Hundred Years' War.
After Henry's death in 1422, Catherine married Owen Tudor, a Welsh courtier, which led to the establishment of the Tudor dynasty. She had several children, including Edmund Tudor and Henry Tudor, who later became Henry VII of England. Catherine's life played a significant role in the history of both England and France.
