Catalan Christmas
Catalan Christmas is a unique celebration in the Catalonia region of Spain, marked by distinct traditions. One of the most famous customs is the Caga Tió, a wooden log decorated with a painted face and a red hat. Families place the log in their homes, and on Christmas Eve, they hit it with sticks while singing traditional songs, hoping it will "poop" out gifts and sweets.
Another important figure in Catalan Christmas is Els Reis, or the Three Wise Men, who visit on January 6th. Children eagerly await their arrival, often leaving out shoes filled with hay for the camels. This celebration emphasizes family, joy, and community spirit during the festive season.
