Els Reis
"Els Reis," or the Three Kings, is a traditional celebration in Spain, particularly popular in Catalonia and other regions. It commemorates the arrival of the Three Wise Men who visited the newborn Jesus and brought gifts. The event takes place on January 6th, marking the end of the Christmas season.
On the evening of January 5th, parades known as Cabalgatas are held, featuring floats, music, and candy thrown to children. Families often celebrate with a special cake called Roscón de Reyes, which contains hidden figurines and a bean. The person who finds the figurine is crowned king or queen for the day.
