Caga Tió
Caga Tió is a traditional Catalan Christmas figure, often referred to as the "pooping log." It is a hollow log with a painted face and a red hat, placed in homes during the holiday season. Families decorate it and care for it, feeding it small treats in the days leading up to Christmas.
On Christmas Eve, children hit the log with sticks while singing traditional songs, encouraging it to "poop" out gifts and sweets. This festive activity symbolizes generosity and the joy of giving, making Caga Tió a beloved part of Catalan holiday celebrations.
