Carlists
The term "Carlists" refers to supporters of the Carlist movement, a traditionalist and legitimist political faction in Spain. The movement emerged in the early 19th century, advocating for the rights of Carlos María Isidro de Borbón to the Spanish throne, opposing the liberal policies of the reigning monarchs. Carlism emphasizes regional autonomy, particularly in Catalonia and the Basque Country, and promotes a conservative interpretation of Catholicism.
Throughout history, Carlism has been associated with several civil wars, notably the Carlist Wars in the 19th century. Although its influence has waned, the movement still exists today, with some groups continuing to advocate for traditional monarchy and regional rights within Spain.
