Afterward, consuming carbohydrates helps to refill these stores, which is essential for recovery and performance in subsequent workouts.
The timing and type of carbohydrates consumed can significantly impact recovery. Foods rich in carbohydrates, such as fruits, whole grains, and sports drinks, are often recommended. Consuming these within 30 minutes to two hours post-exercise can enhance glycogen synthesis, aiding in quicker recovery and improved athletic performance.
