Bohemond I
Bohemond I was a prominent leader during the First Crusade, born around 1054 in Italy. He was the son of Robert Guiscard, a Norman duke, and played a crucial role in capturing Antioch in 1098. Bohemond became the first prince of Antioch, establishing a significant power base in the region.
As a military commander, Bohemond was known for his strategic skills and ambition. He sought to expand his influence in the Levant and often engaged in conflicts with both Muslim and Christian states. His legacy includes the establishment of the Principality of Antioch, which lasted for several centuries.
