Bodos
The Bodos are an indigenous ethnic group primarily found in the northeastern region of India, particularly in the state of Assam. They are known for their rich cultural heritage, including traditional music, dance, and festivals. The Bodos speak the Bodo language, which belongs to the Bodo-Garo branch of the Tibeto-Burman language family.
Historically, the Bodos have faced challenges related to land rights and political representation. In recent years, they have sought greater autonomy and recognition within the Indian political framework. The Bodo Accord, signed in January 2020, aims to address some of these issues and promote development in the region.
