Bodoland is an autonomous region in the northeastern part of India, primarily located in the state of Assam. It was created to provide a degree of self-governance to the Bodo people, an ethnic group in the area. The region is known for its rich cultural heritage, including traditional music, dance, and festivals.
The formation of Bodoland was a result of long-standing demands for autonomy and recognition of the Bodo identity. The Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR) was officially established in January 2020, allowing for local governance and development initiatives aimed at improving the lives of its residents.
