Bodo Accord
The Bodo Accord is an agreement signed in January 2020 between the Government of India, the Government of Assam, and the Bodo groups. It aims to resolve long-standing issues related to the Bodo community in Assam, including demands for greater autonomy and recognition of their rights. The accord seeks to promote peace, development, and the preservation of the Bodo culture.
Under the accord, the Bodo Territorial Region was created, granting the community more administrative powers. It also includes provisions for economic development, rehabilitation of former militants, and measures to ensure the protection of the land and culture of the Bodo people.
