Blanche of Namur
Blanche of Namur was a noblewoman born around 1320 in the County of Namur, which is now part of modern-day Belgium. She was the daughter of John I, Count of Namur and Marie of France. Blanche became known for her marriage to Philip VI of France in 1337, which strengthened ties between the County of Namur and the French crown.
As a queen consort, Blanche played a role in the political landscape of medieval France. She was the mother of several children, including John II of France, who later became king. Blanche's life reflects the intricate connections between noble families during the Middle Ages.
