Białowieża
Białowieża is a village located in northeastern Poland, near the border with Belarus. It is famous for the nearby Białowieża Forest, one of the last and largest remaining parts of the primeval forest that once covered much of Europe. This UNESCO World Heritage site is home to diverse wildlife, including the European bison, which is the continent's heaviest land animal.
The Białowieża Forest is significant for its rich biodiversity and ancient trees, some of which are over 500 years old. The forest serves as a vital habitat for many species and is a popular destination for ecotourism, attracting visitors interested in nature and conservation efforts.
