Białowieża Forest
Białowieża Forest is one of the last and largest remaining parts of the primeval forest that once covered much of Europe. Located on the border between Poland and Belarus, it is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and a biosphere reserve, recognized for its rich biodiversity and ancient trees.
The forest is home to the European bison, or wisent, which is the continent's heaviest land animal. Białowieża Forest also hosts a variety of other wildlife, including deer, wolves, and numerous bird species, making it an important area for conservation and ecological research.
