Białowieża National Park
Białowieża National Park is a UNESCO World Heritage site located on the border between Poland and Belarus. It is one of the last and largest remaining parts of the primeval forest that once covered much of Europe, home to diverse flora and fauna, including the European bison, or wisent.
Established in 1932, the park covers approximately 105 square kilometers and features ancient trees, some over 500 years old. It serves as a vital habitat for many endangered species and is a popular destination for nature enthusiasts, offering opportunities for hiking, birdwatching, and wildlife observation.
