Bhoodan Movement
The Bhoodan Movement was initiated in India in 1951 by the social reformer Vinoba Bhave. Its primary goal was to promote land reform by encouraging wealthy landowners to voluntarily donate a portion of their land to landless farmers. This movement aimed to address the issue of land inequality and improve the living conditions of the rural poor.
The movement gained significant attention and support, leading to the donation of millions of acres of land. It emphasized non-violence and voluntary action, aligning with the principles of Mahatma Gandhi. The Bhoodan Movement played a crucial role in raising awareness about land rights and social justice in India.
