Baking Potatoes
Baking potatoes is a simple cooking method that results in a fluffy interior and crispy skin. The most common type of potato used for baking is the Russet potato, known for its starchy texture. To bake, preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C), wash the potatoes thoroughly, and poke a few holes in them with a fork to allow steam to escape.
Place the potatoes directly on the oven rack or on a baking sheet and bake for about 45-60 minutes, depending on their size. They are done when a fork easily pierces the flesh. Enjoy them with toppings like butter, sour cream, or chives.
