The term "Bactrian" primarily refers to the Bactrian camel, a unique species known for its two humps. Native to the arid regions of Central Asia, particularly in Mongolia and China, these camels are well-adapted to harsh climates and can survive long periods without water. Bactrian camels are larger and sturdier than their single-humped counterparts, the Dromedary camels, and are often used for transportation and as pack animals.
