Baby Teeth
Baby teeth, also known as primary teeth or deciduous teeth, are the first set of teeth that develop in children. Typically, these teeth begin to emerge around six months of age and continue to appear until about three years old. There are 20 baby teeth in total, which play a crucial role in helping children chew food and speak clearly.
As children grow, baby teeth eventually fall out to make way for permanent teeth. This process usually starts around age six and can continue until the early teenage years. Baby teeth are important for maintaining space in the jaw for permanent teeth and ensuring proper alignment as the child develops.
