Tooth Development
Tooth development, also known as odontogenesis, begins in the embryo and continues into early childhood. It involves several stages, including the formation of tooth buds, which eventually develop into the different types of teeth: incisors, canines, and molars. Each tooth goes through a process of growth, mineralization, and eruption.
The development of teeth is influenced by genetic and environmental factors. Primary teeth, or baby teeth, typically emerge between six months and three years of age, while permanent teeth begin to replace them around age six. Proper dental care during this time is essential for healthy tooth development and alignment.
